Curious Minds is designed to spark inquisitiveness in students through hands-on experiments, interactive science demonstrations, and inquiry-based learning modules. The programme travels across all districts of J&K, setting up pop-up science labs in schools and community centres. Students engage in activities ranging from simple physics experiments to robotics introductions, fostering a culture of asking "why?" and "how?".

The National Children's Science Congress (NCSC) is a nationwide programme that encourages children between 10-17 years to take up scientific projects on locally relevant themes. JKSWS has been the proud state coordinator for J&K for 25 consecutive years, facilitating thousands of student projects, mentoring young scientists, and sending state delegations to the national level. The congress promotes the scientific method, teamwork, and community-based problem solving.
A specialized outreach initiative promoting Science, Technology & Innovation communication tailored for hilly and nomadic tribal communities — bridging the knowledge gap in remote regions.
This unique programme takes science directly to communities that are often left out of mainstream educational outreach. JKSWS teams travel to high-altitude pastures, nomadic settlements (Bakarwal, Gujjar, and other communities), and remote hilly villages with portable science kits, solar-powered projectors, and bilingual communication materials. The programme covers health & hygiene, climate awareness, sustainable livelihoods, and digital literacy — all delivered in culturally sensitive ways.
Taking interactive science to the deepest corners of the valley through vibrant Melas and Exhibitions — making complex concepts fun, accessible, and highly engaging for students and communities.
Science Melas are large-scale, carnival-style events that combine entertainment with education. Each Mela features interactive exhibit stalls, science magic shows, telescope viewing sessions, quiz competitions, and innovation showcases by local students. JKSWS organizes these in district headquarters as well as far-flung blocks, ensuring that students who may never visit a big-city science museum get an equally enriching experience. Exhibitions are themed around current DST priorities — water conservation, digital India, health & nutrition, and climate action.
